About 28 kilometers (or by old Japanese standards of measurement, seven Ri) by boat from Atsuta, Nagoya, travelers will arrive at Shichiri no Watashi in Kuwana.
This is where the first torii gate, Ichino Torii, of the Ise Grand Shrine is located. In olden days traveling by boat was dangerous, so the torii may have been regarded as a form of purification. Many travelers must have felt as if they had entered the land of the gods by passing through the Ichino Torii.
MARUYO HOTEL is located in Senbacho, Kuwana City, where Shichiri no Watashi is located. The first floor has a lounge, two twin rooms of different styles, and an open-air bath. The second floor has a spacious common room with a view of the Ibi River and Sumiyoshi Shrine.
The hotel, which accomodates just one group per day, is a place to privately pass the time and enjoy the atmosphere of the town.
